Aatam Sodhan is a Delhi-based nonprofit organization located in Nangloi. The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged communities through education, women’s empowerment, and healthcare initiatives.
Education: Providing learning opportunities for underprivileged children to ensure their academic growth and holistic development.Aatam Sodhan works to bridge educational gaps and promote inclusive growth.
Women Empowerment: Offering stitching and vocational training classes to help women become self-reliant and supporting them in building sustainable careers.
Healthcare: Organizing free health camps for the community, including eye check-ups, dental care, general physician consultations, gynecology services, and more.
Through these initiatives, Aatam Sodhan strives to create equal opportunities, uplift marginalized sections of society, and contribute to community well-being.
In the dusty lanes of Nangloi in early 2012, Shree Dharampal Rathi Ji encountered little Aarav, a seven years old but already working as a rag-picker to feed his siblings. Moved, he gathered local volunteers under a torn tarpaulin and began teaching Aarav to read and write. That handful of children became dozens. Those dozens became hundreds. Today, Prarambh has nurtured over 1,200 young learners, and Aatam Sodhan thrives through five pillars of change.

Aatam Sodhan—“Self-Empowerment”—is a Delhi-registered NGO dedicated to holistic upliftment of Nangloi’s slum dwellers. We blend non-formal education, women’s rights advocacy, health awareness, and environmental stewardship to break the cycle of poverty.
